PROCESS RISK MANAGEMENT

COURSE OVERVIEW & LEARNING OUTCOMES

This course explores best practices in Process Risk Management. It  provides an overview of all significant aspects and considerations of PHA and HAZOP Studies for those who are involved in the management, engineering (design, process, chemical, facilities, instrumentation and controls), operations and safety of process operations. Delegates will learn about the application process management technique and how to plan and manage process risks in oil and gas development projects more effectively. Extensive use of case studies will allow delegates to undertake a range of project team roles and provide the opportunity to guide a team through process risk management .

Upon successful completion of this course, the delegates will be able to:

  • Prepare for a HAZOP study meeting and program

  • Choose nodes (parts of the drawings or operation for HAZOP study)

  • Estimate the program requirements for the successful completion of a study

  • Facilitate techniques to motivate the team and keep them on task

  • Avoid common problems encountered during study meetings, including challenging behaviors

  • Discuss Process Hazard Analysis Tools

  • Analyze potential hazards through the use of Bowtie charts

  • Act as a Team Leader of a HAZOP Team and carry out HAZOP Studies
